Members of the Kansas Health Policy Authority were introduced Monday to the agency”s new director of data policy and evaluation.
Hareesh Mavoori, who began with the agency Monday, has a doctorate in science and engineering and came to the authority from the Center for Health Outcomes of Hawaii Pacific Health, the parent company of a hospital and clinic system in Hawaii. Before that he worked at Bell Labs in Applied Materials and Devices.
According to the health policy authority he has worked on more than 25 health data projects.
“He enjoys working with physicians, nurses, and hospital administrators to design, implement, and track the impact of performance improvement studies and counting the benefits in terms of lives saved or the days infants spend with their parents rather than in the hospital,” according to the biography provided by the agency.
Among other things, Mavoori will spearhead the agency”s health information exchange and technology efforts.
