TOPEKA – The Kansas State Board of Nursing is offering a new service for employers and educational institutions to verify and track nursing licenses online. The Kansas Automated Nurse Notification (KANN) system was created through a partnership between the Kansas Board of Nursing and Kansas.gov, the state’s official Web site.

The KANN system notifies subscribers of any changes in the nursing license status of those nurses they are monitoring. Status changes include renewals, expirations, disciplinary actions, IV certifications and advanced practice status. Interested parties can visit

www.ksbn.org

or

www.kansas.gov

for more information on the KANN system.

“Employers and nursing schools have wanted an efficient way to monitor the license status of their employees,” said Kansas State Board of Nursing Executive Administrator, Mary Blubaugh. “The KANN system gives them an easy-to-use online service and promotes public protection by ensuring that nurses who work with the public meet KSBN qualifications.”

Kansas.gov is the official Web site of the state of Kansas.
