More than 300 mental health advocates from across the state will be in Topeka on Thursday for Mental Health Advocacy Day.
Plans call for state Division of the Budget Director Duane Goossen addressing the group at 10 a.m. at Memorial Hall, 1000 SW Jackson.
Six issue papers will be distributed and discussed:
• Mental health services for the uninsured and underinsured
• Psychiatric inpatient needs
• Medicaid rate cuts
• Preferred drug list
• Voting rights
• Mental health and aging
• Criminal justice issues.
Mental Health Advocacy Day is coordinated by the Kansas Mental Health Coalition and the Kansas chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
