With only days remaining to sign up for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act’s marketplace, a new poll shows that a majority of the uninsured remain unaware of the March 31 enrollment deadline.
The poll, by the Kaiser Family Foundation, also found that half those who lacked coverage as of mid-March said they planned to remain uninsured despite being reminded of the penalty in the law for those not having health insurance.
The survey showed that four in 10 of the uninsured did not know of the federal subsidies to help those with low incomes buy coverage through the marketplace.
On another front, the poll found that though public opinion of Obamacare remains more negative, than positive a growing number are reporting positive views toward the law and that six in 10 want Congress to keep the law in place and either leave it alone or work to improve it.
