Research Analyst Positions

The Kansas Health Institute (KHI) has immediate openings for both a senior and a junior research analyst to conduct health policy and health services research. The ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary research setting is essential. Strong writing and verbal communication skills are essential.

Candidates for the senior analyst position should have a master”s degree with at least 10 years of experience, or a doctoral degree with relevant experience, in the social sciences, public health or a health-related field. Candidates for the junior analyst position should have a master”s degree or a bachelor”s degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Familiarity with Medicaid or Medicare data, commercial insurance claims data, sample survey data, census data, vital statistics, hospital discharge or other large claims or population-based datasets is required. Proficiency with SAS, SPSS or STATA, spreadsheets, and database management is highly preferred. Candidates with experience in applied settings in health policy and health services research, as well as an understanding of public health and health care delivery systems, are preferred. KHI is an independent, non-profit health policy and research organization based in Topeka, Kansas. Established in 1995 with a multiyear grant from the Kansas Health Foundation, KHI was developed to conduct research and policy analysis on issues that affect the health of Kansans and to communicate that information so that informed decisions can be made.
