TOPEKA, June 25
The Sunflower Foundation has scheduled a media briefing on Thursday to announce the results of a recent statewide poll it commissioned on tobacco issues.
The briefing is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the foundation”s offices, 1200 SW Executive Dr., Topeka.
Scheduled to speak are Billie Hall, president and chief executive officer of the Sunflower Foundation, Marcia Nielsen, executive director of the Kansas Health Policy Authority, Dr. Howard Rodenberg, director of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment Division of Health, and Dr. Robert St. Peter, president and CEO of the Kansas Health Institute.
The poll gauged public opinion on such topics as smoking bans and tobacco taxes.
The mission of the nonprofit Sunflower Foundation is to improve the health of Kansans by improving access to care, promoting preventive health and disseminating information about health.
